Gone But Not Forgotten

Remembering Mo

“Mo went missing at Priestley Farm in Flitwick in November 2024. She was a beautiful, well-loved elderly Jack Russell terrier who had been on a walk with her owner when she disappeared from sight. She went missing nearby a river, and we were concerned for her safety. We were quick to offer much-appreciated support, advice, and we made a poster to share online. Our drone pilots were out for many hours with our thermal drone, but sadly there was no sign of Mo. With no sightings and given the location and Mo’s age, health, and dementia, we gathered our team together for extensive ground searching and used our other equipment, such as a thermal monocular, food stations, and trail cams—desperate to get some sightings of Mo. Sadly, Mo was discovered to have fallen into the nearby river, which would’ve happened very shortly after she went missing. Rest in peace, Mo. We always think about you and your family, and even though it is the worst outcome possible, we are thankful that your family has closure.”

Remembering Cookie

“Cookie belonged to Meg, our trustee and drone pilot. She went missing on the 14th of August 2024 at Cosgrove Caravan Park. Whilst on her holidays with Meg’s parents, the gate in the garden tragically flew open in the wind whilst she was let outside to toilet before bed, and she managed to wander out. At 14 years old, practically blind and deaf, and with dementia surrounded by lakes, rivers, and water—Cookie’s chances of survival were very slim. Meg was there straight away, and she never gave up hope on her—taking three weeks off work to dedicate every minute to finding her. Leon and Jake flew thermal drones multiple times over the park for hours on end and taught Meg how to use the mini drone so she could search too. Meg camped outside, droned, ground searched, plastered the park with posters, and kayaked rivers until finally, on the 30th of September 2024, after terrible flooding in the park, Cookie was found in the River Ouse. Every drone flight, every poster she makes, every phone call she answers… Cookie is always in her thoughts. Meg knows how it feels to be missing a pet and in desperation to find them. Rest in peace, Cookie, forever missed.”

Remembering Mila

“On the night of September 25th, 2024, beloved family dog Mila went missing after managing to escape the safety of her garden and wandering onto perilous railway tracks. Despite the exhaustive search and multiple outreach to Network Rail, the distraught family received no word of Mila until two weeks later, when confirmation finally came that their beloved dog had been tragically struck and killed by a train the very night of her escape. We supported Mila’s family throughout this horrendous ordeal and have supported them in setting up a petition to ensure it becomes mandatory for Network Rail to scan and notify owners of deceased pets. Prior to learning of Mila’s passing, we spent many hours with our thermal drone over multiple days, creating a poster to plaster around the area, and we followed up on all possible sightings—desperate to help find her. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Mila; she was a young, energetic, and loving pup who may be gone but will never be forgotten. Rest in peace, Mila.”
