Thermal Drone
Support Bedfordshire

Welcome to Thermal Drone Support Bedfordshire. Registered charity number: 1210148.

Our compassionate team of volunteers and drone pilots are committed to reuniting owners with their beloved pets through the use of innovative thermal technology and safe animal trapping techniques. We provide essential advice, guidance and unwavering support behind the scenes.

Our charity was formed after one of our own dogs went missing for 12 days in the central Bedfordshire countryside. The need for a thermal drone to find him was paramount. There was not one thermal drone available to us in Bedfordshire. When we finally secured a thermal drone 12 days later, with experience from a lost dog organisation to help to pinpoint our dog, he was found within 2 hours of the thermal drone arriving.

We fundraised and with huge generosity of the public we were able to purchase two thermal drones. These drones are now dedicated to providing support to owners of missing pets. As a charity we are supported by the continued generosity of people like you making donations to continue to do what we do.

Our aim is to raise awareness to the wider pet owner communities within Bedfordshire and surrounding counties and offer those who have lost their pet both practical and emotional FREE support. We are fully insured and our volunteers hold appropriate certification and undergo regular training.

Drones

Drones are an innovation in technology and can provide a multitude of benefits in the community.

We use state of the art drones here at Thermal Drone Support Bedfordshire for the purpose of locating missing pets. We currently have two Mavic 3T drones. We were able to get these drones because of the generosity of donations.

Our drones are excellent at zooming in from far away. And our drones have thermal sensors and cameras that allow them to locate heat signatures, with missing animals being the reason we use them!

The thermal imaging feature can be switched to a side-by-side mode on the controller which enables our pilots to identify any heat signatures they pick up on.

We can cover large areas in a short space of time, flying at a maximum height of 400ft ensures that the noise of the drone will not disturb the lightest wildlife sleeper or anxious dogs.

Drones are also used for a variety of other reasons; search and rescue, within the medical field, to live stream, for environmental monitoring, infrastructure inspections, surveying, mapping and package deliveries.
